UFCVM Student Well-being
Our mission
The mission of the office for academic and student affairs is to empower students to succeed academically and reach their goals as veterinarians and leaders. Specifically for wellness and inclusion, our goal is to promote personal and professional wellness, diversity, equity and inclusion in order to foster an environment that prepares future leaders to solve global problems. We cultivate a community that respects and engages with one another across differences. The definition of well-being, used by the National Wellness Institute states: “Well(being) is an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward a more successful existence.”
Our goals for student well-being at UFCVM are to:
- Educate students about wellness, including risk factors that may impact well-being
- Provide a culture of support for CVM students and encourage students to ask for help
- Provide tools for students to improve self-care and manage stress
