Dr. Jessica Robertson graduated from UF College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She began her veterinary career in a local corporate veterinary practice where she was the chief of staff veterinarian. Within those early years of practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Robertson felt a call to do more and offer more to her clients. In 2013, Dr. Robertson left corporate practice to start her own veterinary practice where she could spend more time with each of her clients and their pets in order to properly educate and counsel. And in 2015, Dr. Robertson expanded her practice by starting Robertson Mobile Vet. Dr. Robertson strives to provide quality veterinary care to her clients and their pets, while educating clients to make the most informed decisions for their pets and their pets’ health.
What makes your practice unique?
See exotics and offer both in clinic and in-home appointment options. I also offer consistent medical care. We are a locally owned, small animal and exotic practice that focused on building quality relationships with clients in order to offer quality medicine for their pets.
What insight do you have for current DVM students (in one sentence)?
Get as much hands-on, real-life experience as you can before graduation.
How do you practice work-life balance?
I encourage work-life balance by only being open Monday – Friday from 8am-6pm and not doing any on-call or after-hours appointments. I keep everyone to a 40-hour work week so that burnout does not happen. I also close for the full week between Christmas and New Year’s to make sure everyone gets time to rest and spend with their family and friends.
What is a fun fact about your practice? Do any of your team members have any hidden talents?
We all like to have fun while we work, there is a lot of laughing and smiles! One team member is a registered massage therapist and one is a licensed barber.
How many and what type of pets do you have?
I currently have one Great Dane, Sasha
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love being outdoors, but my absolute favorite activity is going to the beach.
