This page is devoted to providing information and valuable resources for 4th year students as they prepare for commencement.

Commencement programs

Graduation Checklist:

As you prepare to graduate this term, please make sure to complete all your academic and financial obligations.

  1. Review and verify completion of all degree requirements with your curriculum coordinator.
  2. Complete the online degree application in ONE.UF (requires GatorLink log in) by January 31, 2020.
  3. Verify your permanent home addresses.
  4. Clear your academic record. Previous incomplete grades must be converted to satisfactory letter grades before you can graduate. Incompletes received in your final term will prevent you from graduating.
  5. Satisfy all financial obligations (fines, tickets, fees, etc.) with University Bursar in S-113 Criser Hall and veterinary hospitals. Outstanding debt will delay release of your diploma and transcript.
  6. Make sure to complete an exit interview online or visit University Bursar in S-113 Criser Hall if you have received UF-administered student loans.
  7. Meet with UF CVM Career Services and prepare for your post-graduation plans. Ensure you complete your post-graduation plans form in the Professional DVM Canvas Course and the AVMA Graduation Survey that will be emailed to you prior to commencement.
  8. Order your Student Regalia (requires GatorLink log in) by March 23, 2020 at the University Bookstore, 352-392-0194. 
  9. Join the UF Alumni Association and become a member of your local Gator Club. 

Critical Dates

Date: Friday, January 31, 2020

Degree and Certificate Application deadline. Everyone must complete their DVM degree application! Students on track to receive a certificate must also complete the certificate degree application. If these applications are not completed by the deadline you will not receive your diploma and/or certificate on time and the final transcript will not contain the statement indicating a professional certificate was completed.

Student Regalia ordering website opens (requires GatorLink log in). Only those registered to graduate will be able to place an order. The last day to submit your regalia (gown & hood) order is March 23, 2020. Students can pick up their regalia at the UF Bookstore (1900 Museum Road) starting May 11, 2020 through May 22, 2020. The deadline for graduates to return their regalia is May 23, 2020 which UF Bookstore staff will be present at the Phillips Center.

The rental price is $145.52 which includes rental gown and hood with souvenir/keeper tam and tassel. The price $284.62 includes rental gown with purchase of DVM hood and keeper tam and tassel. The price $1096.37 (Custom DVM Regalia) includes custom gown, hood and tam with tassel and has an order deadline of March 23, 2020. The custom regalia is shipped directly to the customer.
