Class of 2020 – Online Orientation Information

Welcome!

We have created an online orientation site to help you complete certain administrative requirements and to prepare you for classes for this Fall term. We are looking forward to you joining us at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine. The online orientation activities are located within our UF E-Learning System. This system is also referred to as “Sakai.”

It takes at least two business days after a functional Gatorlink account is established, to access our E-learning System. Remember to e-mail our Chief Admissions Officer, Lynette Chaparro (chaparrol@ufl.edu) once your Gatorlink (webmail) is functional. If you cannot login to the E-Learning System, please wait one week and try again.  If you are still not able to login after that time, then please e-mail Lynette Chaparro (chaparrol@ufl.edu)  As of May 15th, 8:00 am, 80% of new incoming students have access to this site.

Accessing the UF E-Learning System (aka “Sakai”)

To get started, click here to view a brief video tutorial on how to login and navigate the system. After you have viewed the tutorial, you can login using the instructions below.

Browse to the following web site address:
http://lss.at.ufl.edu

Then, click on the “E-Learning Login” button on the top left of the screen.
Enter your Gatorlink username and password where prompted, and then click on Login.

After you are logged in, look for the “Administrative SIte for DVM Class of 2017” at the top of the screen. You may also need to click on the “More Sites” drop-down list to find this link. Then, read through the information on the site’s home page.

Please keep in mind that we will continue to add required activities and additional information over the course of the summer. We will send out e-mail notifications to all incoming students when information has been added to this site, as well as post announcements to the site’s home page.

If you have forgotten your Gatorlink username or password, please contact our UF Computing Help Desk staff at:  (352) 392-4357 or e-mail helpdesk@ufl.edu  and they can look up your Gatorlink username for you, and reset your password if needed.

Please remember, as noted above, you will not be able to access this site until you have a functional Gatorlink account, and you have already e-mailed our Admissions Officer. It may take up to two business days after you have e-mailed our Admissions Officer for your access to be arranged.

Planning Your Work

We recognize that many of you may be working this summer or using this time for other activities before you begin classes this Fall.  A few of the activities posted within the site are time-sensitive and marked accordingly.  Please allot some time every couple of weeks to be able to check your UF mail, and login to the E-Learning System so that you don’t have to rush to complete all activities before orientation.

Go Gators!

All of us within the Office for Students and Instruction wish you the best of success as you start your studies here. We have prepared these online activities to help you “hit the ground running” when you arrive here in August.
